SHEIN Shipping and Returns in the US and Canada, Explained

Shipping and returns are where a cheap SHEIN haul either stays cheap or quietly gets expensive. The rules differ between the US and Canada, and a few of them (return fees, non-returnable items, delivery claims) catch people out. Below are the numbers from SHEIN’s own help pages for the US, checked in October 2026.

Items sold by third-party sellers on SHEIN’s marketplace can have their own shipping thresholds, shown at checkout. Items labelled “Local” ship from a US warehouse and usually arrive faster.

Delivery times and late orders

SHEIN’s delivery windows are estimates. Its help pages warn about delays during peak sales, for rural addresses and for preorder items.

• If an order is late under SHEIN’s On-Time Delivery Service, SHEIN says it credits 500 points (worth about $5 at 100 points per dollar).

If an order never arrives

Act fast, because the claim windows are short:

1. Check the tracking in My Orders and with the carrier.
2. Look around your building, with neighbours and at the mailroom.
3. Contact SHEIN customer service from the order page.

SHEIN's US page says to contact it within 45 days of payment if the order has not arrived, or within 45 days of the delivery date if it shows delivered but you don't have it.

What you can’t return

SHEIN's US policy lists bodysuits, lingerie, underwear, jewelry, accessories, cosmetics, pet products and clearance or final-sale items as non-returnable.

The practical lesson: be extra careful with sizing on anything in those categories, because you will be keeping it.

How to return an item

1. Open My Orders, choose the order and start a return from the order page.
2. Pick the items and the reason, then choose the refund method.
3. Use the return method and label SHEIN gives you, and pack everything with tags attached.
4. Keep the drop-off receipt until the refund lands.

Bundle everything you want to send back from one order into a single return. Since only the first return per order is free, two separate returns from the same order means paying the fee on the second.

Customs and duties

US Customs and Border Protection suspended the duty-free "de minimis" treatment for low-value imports from all countries starting August 29, 2025 (from May 2, 2025 for China and Hong Kong). SHEIN's prices and checkout reflect how it handles this, so read the total carefully, and note that SHEIN's Free Trial rules say testers pay any duty charged on trial items.
