SHEIN points are the most reliable discount on the platform: you earn them on almost every order and redeem them straight at checkout. They are also easy to waste, because purchase points only arrive after you confirm delivery and every batch expires. Here is how the program works, using SHEIN’s own published terms for the US and Canada.

The math in one line: 100 points = 1 dollar off products. You can cover up to 70% of the product total with points, never shipping or taxes.

How you earn SHEIN points

ActionPoints (per SHEIN’s terms)
PurchasesGenerally 1 point per Canadian dollar spent on products, after you confirm delivery
Verifying your email at sign-upUp to 100 points
Product review, text only5 points per item
Review with a photo15 points per item
Review with photo and size info17 points per item
Free Trial review that meets the rules20 points, plus 100 if rated a “Quality Review”

A few details that matter:

  • Purchase points are based on what you paid for products, after discounts. Taxes, shipping and other fees do not earn points.
  • You must tap Confirm Delivery in your order to receive purchase points, and you have six months from the order to do it. After that, the points are not awarded.
  • SHEIN’s Canadian terms cap points earned at 8,000 in any 24 hours, with lower caps per activity.

The best ongoing source for most shoppers is reviews. Our guide to reviews for points shows what qualifies.

What SHEIN points are worth

SHEIN’s US payment help page states that 100 points equal $1. So:

PointsValue at checkout
1001 dollar
5005 dollars
1,00010 dollars
2,50025 dollars
SHEIN's Canadian terms also price points at 100 points per dollar. Your checkout shows the exact discount in CAD before you pay, so read that number rather than doing the math yourself.

Put another way, each point earned on a purchase is worth about 1% back. That is a modest but real rebate, and it stacks with sales.

How to redeem points at checkout

  1. Add items to your bag and go to checkout.
  2. In the points field, enter how many points to use and tap Apply. If you skip Apply, the discount is not taken.
  3. Check the new total before paying.

The rules SHEIN publishes:

  • Points can cover up to 70% of the product total.
  • They never cover shipping, insurance, taxes or fees.
  • Some items from third-party sellers on SHEIN do not accept points; checkout will tell you.
  • Points are only usable on the SHEIN site where you earned them. Points from the Canada site do not work on another country’s site.
  • When you redeem, the points closest to expiring are used first.

You can use points together with a coupon on the same order. See SHEIN coupons that actually work for how coupons stack.

Expiration: the easy way to lose points

Every batch of points has its own expiration date. You can see your balance and dates under My Assets, then My Points. SHEIN’s Canadian terms say points expire 12 months after you earn them and that SHEIN gives at least 30 days’ notice first.

Two habits keep points from dying:

  • Check My Points once a month.
  • If a batch is close to expiring, use it on something you were going to buy anyway, not on an impulse add-on.

Returns, cancellations and points

  • Unpaid order cancelled: points you applied go back to your balance.
  • You return items you paid for partly with points: the points used are credited back pro rata, unless they have already expired.
  • You return items that earned points: those earned points are removed pro rata. If your balance is too low, it can go negative and is offset by future points.
  • Fraud: SHEIN can remove points it finds were earned improperly, and points are non-transferable.

Limits and honest caveats

Points are a rebate, not free money. Spending more to “earn” points almost never pays: 100 dollars of extra shopping earns about 1 dollar back. The program can also change; SHEIN reserves the right to amend or end it with notice. Use points to trim orders you already planned, confirm delivery every time, and watch the dates.
